St.Therese of the Child Jesus Church in Pasay

I am living in Pasay for 8 months now and I visited more than one churches already, like Our  Lady of Loreto Chapel inside the Villamor Air Base, StaClara de Montefalco Parish Church  and a church in Maricaban. Last night my husband and I decided to attend a mass in St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church in Pasay and I am amazed seeing the church for the first time. It is funny that I had an argument with my husband; I told him that St. Therese of the Child Jesus church is bigger than Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene church Quiapo and he did not agree.

St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church in Pasay
St. Therese of the Child Jesus is a huge church in Villamor, speaking of the church measurement, it is long and wide. It is a very elegant place of holiness, the designs are very welcoming. The shape of its ceiling captivated my interest, it is curve and big. Before you reach the church, you have to steps on stairs for it is a high in location.

The church is known for providing an elegant wedding or nuptial mass. However, the price is expensive more or less 20,000 pesos if I am not mistaken. Actually, this is my second option when I am scouting for a wedding church last year and I ended getting married in Our Lady of Loreto chapel.

The church is in front of Newport condominiums, lucky those who are living in those condominiums for they are just walking distance with the church. I enjoyed walking in the streets nearby the church, busy streets yet disciplined people are walking.

The moment I felt after the mass is unexplainable, the mass was very solemn and I really felt God’s presence. The priest made a very good sharing of God’s words. He indeed talked about how to be a good announcer of God’s promise and goodness. He has a sense of humor that made me awake throughout the mass.

  3. I was just talking to Dr. Banaag, Father of child and adolescent psychiatry in the Philippines last Saturday, and he mentioned that he has noticed that our youth are becoming more interested with satellite religions outside of Catholicism. One of the comments of these young churchgoers is that they find the satellite groups more solemn and intimate resulting to what they think is a better relationship with God.

However, that means more of our youth are leaving the major veins of religion and going to these satellite groups. There is no problem with this as long as the faith is the same. The problem is nobody really monitors these satellite groups and we don't want to see another religious fiasco committed by misled so-called prophets.

It seems your experience in church became memorable because it was not crowded and so you were able to appreciate the mass better. I think if we want our children to have that kind of experience as well, our churches should aim for more quality than quantity.

  8. I've passed by this church for several times now, even when I go to Resort World. I've always been fascinated with the architecture. But never really went inside. I don't know why. But at least this made me think about attending mass there once I find myself in the area.
