I have a house and lot in Imus, Cavite so I have to pay the taxes for that every year. I purchased the house and lot on 2010 and I only pay the real estate tax last Friday.
I paid the real estate tax in the municipality of Imus, Cavite, near the archdiocese of Imus or the church in Imus and Lotus mall.
How to Pay the Real Estate Tax?
1. You have to get the Tax declaration of your house and lot.
You can get it from your developer, if you bought it from the developer of a subdivision.
If you don’t have the tax declaration, you may ask for it at the municipality where your house and lot belong.
2. Go to the municipality where your house and lot is located.
3. Let the personnel there, assess your payment.
4. Pay the real estate charges.
In my case, I only pay 3 years for land tax and 2 years for the house tax. I just discovered that I have to pay the real estate tax for the house, what I only knew before was the real estate tax for the land.
If you don’t have enough money, you can pay one year or more, depends on how much you have. Just be reminded of the penalty, especially for the house, it grows high.
I think paying the real estate tax for other cities, provinces and municipalities in the Philippines are with the same procedure like the one above. If you are not a first timer on paying real estate taxes, do not forget your receipt the other year so you can pay faster.
I would want to thank the municipal personnel who assisted me in paying my real estate taxes, she’s approachable and helpful.
